Avera Announces 12th Development in Southeast Houston

The Avera Companies, a commercial real estate development, construction, and investment firm, has announced plans to develop Baywood Logistics, a 401,154 SF front load distribution building, on 34.02 acres of land in Southeast Houston.

The project is situated on a rare site on the west side of the Houston Ship Channel, between Highway 225 and Interstate 45 along Red Bluff Road just south of Genoa Red Bluff Road, a well-established corridor that is home to numerous institutional quality developments.

Baywood Logistics will represent Avera’s 12th development in Southeast Houston. Avera’s past performance in the submarket consists of over 3.2M SF, all leased or sold, with major contributions to the market including Cedar Port Logistics, 225 Railport, BNIP Rail, Sutton Logistics, and Red Bluff Industrial.

Baywood Logistics offers an ideal location with access to both container terminals, excellent ingress/egress capabilities, and close proximity to multiple major thoroughfares.

Baywood Logistics is a true rarity in the current land environment, offering users remarkable access to the container terminals at a time where suitable industrial land sites are increasingly scarce,” said Trey Odom, President and CEO of The Avera Companies. By combining its highly sought after location and the laborious predevelopment work Avera has already put into this project, we are confident that Baywood Logistics will successfully expand Avera’s footprint in the southeast market.”

Baywood Logistics is estimated to be delivered in Q4 2025. For more information, please contact Rick Kight, Executive Vice President, Development, The Avera Companies, at 713.800.9647 or RKight@averacompanies.com.
